Gladys

Gladys lives in Mountain View, CA with her two daughters. She enjoys discovering new hiking trails with them and experiencing new places together for the first time. “This program has provided me with a peace of mind each month knowing I will have a little extra to enjoy things with my daughters. I have been able to visit places with my daughters and truly have enjoyed having somewhat of an economic stability to take them out to places and enjoy things we couldn’t in the past because mommy was always working to make ends meet. I am more than grateful to GOD for such an opportunity and for the coordinators of this program. Thank you all! You really are making a difference!”

“A” (anonymous), one of six family members, was deeply affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. They needed three months of emergency rent to maintain housing, which has been increasingly stable since December 2022 when the first Elevate MV guaranteed income payments went out. They have also relied less on food banks since receiving a guaranteed income.

"L"

“L” (anonymous) is a young mom who sees guaranteed basic income as a blessing. Health issues have kept her from being able to work for an extended period of time. The $500 per month covers her much-needed medication. Before receiving a guaranteed income, her husband took side jobs to pay for her prescriptions. The payments have also given her husband the flexibility to be her part-time caretaker.
