The Rural Income Maintenance Experiment was initiated in 1968 with a planning grant from the Ford Foundation. The study was carried out by the Office for Economic Opportunity through a gral;lttothe Institute for Research on Poverty, University of Wisconsin-Madison. The Director of the study was Lee Bawden.
